Millennium Art Academy opened in 2003.
The Millennium Art Academy is an award-winning, small high school designed to prepare students for the world of college, work, and community. Using a foundation of humanity, as well as themes of visual art and intergeneration, students participate in a variety of individual and group projects that stress critical thinking skills, problem solving, developmental writing, and artistic construction.
MAA students have exhibited their art in Sotheby's Gallery & Auction House, in the United Nations, and on Capital Hill in Washington D.C. In addition, MAA's award-winning Intergenerational program was featured on CBS' Evening News when students and elders shared excerpts from their original book, "Back In The Day", at Barnes and Noble.
