*About Rutgers University: www.rutgers.eduRutgers is the only university in the nation that is a colonial college, a land-grant institution, and a leading public research university. It is the nation’s eighth oldest institution of higher learning—one of only nine colonial colleges established before the American Revolution.Chartered in 1766 as all-male Queen’s College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the school was renamed Rutgers College in 1825 in honor of trustee and Revolutionary War veteran Colonel Henry Rutgers. In the mid-19th century, Congress established the nation’s land-grant colleges in response to the Industrial Revolution. In 1864, Rutgers prevailed over Princeton to become New Jersey’s land-grant institution, tasked with offering educational access to a wider range of students who would be the new workforce for America’s expanding businesses, factories, and farms. In 1989, Rutgers was invited to join the Association of American Universities, making Rutgers one of the top 62 research universities in North America. Rutgers’ standing as a leading university reached new heights in 2013 when a state legislative act transferred to Rutgers much of the University of Medicin\e and Dentistry of New Jersey, including two medical schools and a dental school.Today, with more than 65,000 students, Rutgers is one of the most significant and diverse comprehensive research universities in the nation.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Fordham University was always a permanent ficture growing up reminding me and my parents that this was my ultimate goal- going to college. I guess you could say I was destined to go to this school because I was actually born at Fordham Hospital which was later torn down and became a part of the Fordham University Campus. Although many of my friends wanted to go to school as far away from home as possible, I wanted to stay as close to home and work and Fordham University would give me this rare opportunity.

Fordham, one of three Jesuit schools in New York concentrates on the arts and sciences which is what I knew I really wanted. Besides offering a great liberal arts education, I recieved a great financial aid package paying almost nothing for four years of a truly well rounded, fantastic education from a private university that was just a few blocks away from the comforts of my home. I could not have asked for more. Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History and Russian Studies I decided to go into the field of teaching and I enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus in Manhattan. Having three campuses- one at Rose Hill in the Bronx, the second at Lincoln Center, and the third in Westchester, is what makes Fordham so desireable and convenient for many New Yorkers interested in a first rate education.

About Me

I originally studied business marketing at Pace, but as I took elective classes in History I realized That my interest in the topics went beyond curiosity.  I later changed my declared major to History and Psychology.  Throughout my life I coached and trained student athletes, so mixing my love of the History content and my report with students seemed the best course.
